Kildare are the visitors to Pearse Park in Arklow Saturday as Wicklow look to win through to a date in Thurles and a place in an All-Ireland final. The Lillywhites will provide a stern test for Seamus Murphy and his team having already played in the Leinster championship earlier in the summer where they gave Carlow plenty of problems before going down 1-12 to 2-14.
Wicklow have the benefit of a hard earned 4-17 to 0-16 win last weekend over Roscommon to boost them coming in but won’t underestimate the challenge posed by Kildare. Players like Cathal and Conor Dowling, Jack Sheridan, Sean Lawlor and Aran Kelly are fine hurlers and Naas provide no fewer than 10 to the starting team.
Throw in is at 5 p.m. and Seamus Murphy encourages all those that can support the team to get out and do so and hopefully we can have another day in Thurles like that famous win in 2015.
