Blessington Club Notes

Well sadly its all over for our senior team for another year. In a game that looked as if it could go either way at half time, unfortunately proved victorious for Baltinglass and Blessington must regroup and come back again next year.

Baltinglass opened the scoring in the sixth minute but Blessington got the next three points before Joey Kelly hit the back of the Blessington net with a goal to leave the score at 12 minutes Blessington 0-3 Baltinglass 1-1, they traded points then with Blessington scoring the final point of the half to go in at half time level on 0-5 to 1-2. At this stage it was anyones game, both sides would have been thinking they had the beating of the other. In the second half Blessington opened the scoring straight away, with a reply from Baltinglass 2 minutes later. Eoin Keogh made way for Bryan Carroll and ten minutes into the second half it was all level at 0-7 to 1-4. Sean Byrne then replaced Gavin Murray and Mickey O’Connor replaced Stephen Flanagan.   Blessington and Baltinglass traded points again until the 54th minute when Baltinglass took the lead, Gavin Murray returned to replace Curtis Geraghty and Ronan Doyle came on for Bryan Carroll. Blessington failed to score in the last ten minutes and this proved their downfall. Full time score Blessington 0-9 Baltinglass  1-8, a two point victory for Baltinglass.
