St. Patricks Club Notes

St. Patricks Notes

The Senior footballers continued their good league form when beating Annacurra at home on Sunday evening. With the county team now out, all focus is on the tough championship opener that we have with Blessington. We narrowly beat Blessington in the semi-final last year so this game will certainly test where we are at. The Senior hurlers return to championship action on Saturday at 5-30pm in Arklow when they take on Kiltegan, this is a must win game after dropping points in our opener if we are to stay in the chase for a semi-final berth.  The club are running a football boot camp on Saturday mornings from 11am in the clubhouse, please bring along any boots that would still benefit somebody else and perhaps swap for a bigger size on the day. We are also collecting Lucozade sport bottle caps to claim gear as part of a national promotion, and we appeal to all club members and friends to collect the caps and drop them up to Dunbur to Patrice in the club shop on Saturday mornings.

The G4Girls finished on Saturday 6th July with the girls being presented with their Jerseys and Certs.  The programme has been a great success with over 40 girls attending each week for 8 weeks.  We are encouraging all the girls to continue playing football and hope to see many of them back with teams in the very near future.  The girls are heading to Croke Park next Monday 15th to participate in a National G4G blitz and a great day will be had by all I’m sure.  Thank you to all the coaches who gave up their time during the programme, it was really appreciated.

U8 and U10 Girls blitz:  176 girls making up 15 teams from across the county descended on a sunny St Patrick’s club grounds on Saturday 6th July, the girls played at least 3 matches each and had a great day.  The blitzes are great for the development of the girls and it is brilliant to see them all enjoying playing football.  Refreshments were provided throughout the day and all the girls received goody bags to finish off a very successful blitz.  Thanks to Stephen McNulty for organising the blitz and to all refs, parents and volunteers who helped with food, making up bags and serving the multitude all morning.  Help is alway appreciated.

Our u12 girls played out there last two league matches with exciting  wins over AGB  and Bray  Emmets. Both games were extremely tight with the lead changing hands on a few occasions. However our girls showed great character and commitment to prevail in the end.

G4Mothers:  We have had to cancel the last couple of training session due to other commitments but hopefully we will be back on track next week, all new players welcome, contact Georgina 0868452869.

A reminder that there are still some places left for the Kelloggs Cul Camps, so  log on and register on www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ieif you are yet to do so.
