Dunlavin GAA Club Notes

Our club held its first players meeting of 2012 in the clubhouse on Thursday last @ 8pm, there was an excellent attendance from both adult teams, The optimism, expectation and excitement could be felt throughout the room as Chairman Tom Harney Intermediate manager Pat Lambe and Junior manager Andy O Brien addressed the players for the first time collectively.

Training kicks off on Tuesday & Friday nights at 7.45pm in St Kevins C.C for both adult teams where we expect the same turn out once more – best of luck for 2012 the both teams.

The Juniors have their first outing of 2012 on Sunday 15th at 11.30am in Kilbride, we hope to get a good attendance for this game, please come out and support the lads.

A reminder to all players and members that our club membership is now due for 2012. A collection we take place on training nights and also from any committee member.

The lotto was not won last week which now means the jackpot is up to €2,600, there were 2 match 3 winners Phil English & Trish Whittle who both share €250 each.

Please support our club and purchase a ticket at only €2, available from most businesses in the village also any committee member.

Dunlavin Gaa will be holding a “Steel Scrappage” collection weekend on January 21st & 22nd , also a “clothes collection” will be taking place on these dates so don’t miss the opportunity to get rid of any of your unwanted Steel Scrap or Clothes while supporting our local Gaa club. If you need anything collected from your home please don’t hesitate to contact any of our committee members who will arrange this.

Committee meeting will be held in our club house on Wednesday night 11th of January , please make sure all committee members attend.

A very exciting evening planned for February 6th in our clubhouse , our “Motivation Night” will be a social evening for the club which will involve well-known guest speakers who have become very successful in their field of Sport/Business , they will be speaking about their achievements their Ups&Downs and sacrifices they had to make in life in order to achieve their success.

This is a social evening for everybody to attend in our local community which will be one of the most interesting and informative nights ever to be held at our Gaa Clubhouse, we will have more information on the “Motivation Night” over the coming weeks.

A reminder that Dunlavin club gear is still available to purchase, O`neills hoodies, rain jackets , polo shirts and hats can still be ordered from any committee member, ideal gift for any Dunlavin Gaa supporter.
