Stratford-Grangecon Club Notes

Our Junior team were away to Baltinglass last Thursday evening and after a bright start they lost eventually lost the game on a scoreline of Baltinglass 2-10 Stratford/Grangecon 0-05 next up is Dunlavin away this comimg Thursday eveing at 7.30pm.
In Division 1 our Senior team were defeated at home by Tinahely 1-05 to 0-10 on Saturday evening, despite the team missing 3 key players and loosing James Barrett to injury in the first half they battled hard and almost got a result.
Michael Dwyers U12 Hurling team played Bray Emmets in the third round of the league last Monday night and won with the final score of 10-4 to no score.

Players from our club on the team were Colin Byrne (1-2) Mark Murphy (1-0) and Sean O’ Neill.

Our La na gClub day was held on Sunday. The day started with a parade around the field. Chairman Declan Hanly welcomed every one to the field. The first match of the day was between U14 Michael Dwyers and Rathvilly. Next up were our U8’s who played Donard/The Glen followed by our U10’s who also played Donard/The Glen.Both were very enjoyable games to watch.

The U12’s played Naas next, this was a great game of football played in bad weather conditions with the home team playing some great football. Finally it was the turn of our hurlers who played St Nicholas, this was a great game of hurling played with great skill. Thanks to our referees Mick Byrne and Eoin O’Neill. The day finished with music and a bar b que. A great day was had by everyone despite the rain. Thanks to all who helped out in any way on the day and to all who came to support us.  
Juvenille training continues Saturday mornings at 11am and all are welcome.
